Please *hold off* registering - I am on this case (no more than a week
- hassle me if not).
(I know it looks like nothing's happening up front but I'm working quite
hard on our web presence behind the scene and it'll come together. I've got
a bunch of our videos so I know we need a place for them.)
If you have videos, by all means get 'em ready, or send them to me if
you want.
There is an 'Oxford Hackspace' channel on *Vimeo*, and several videos
from the early days of Oxhack, that it would be good to keep. I'll
chase Oleg about that. If we have no use for it, at least we can get
the videos. (There's also #OxHack tag).
Youtube 'OxHack' is taken.
'Oxford Hackspace' isn't a permitted name - except by associating with
Google+. This is ok, all Oxhack G+ maintainers will be able to approve
and upload content, anyway like it or not, it's Youtube's future.
Make a Youtube channel *looks* like a no-brainer, but for a
non-personal channel it is possible to screw it up irreversibly.
Google is copying Facebook's social graph, and both currently are
nasty if accounts link up 'wrong'. (YT tends to link to a personal
Gmail account - and the only way to change the administrator later,
officially, is delete the person's Gmail account!)
(Trust me you don't want to know more, I spent hours chasing a similar
thing earlier this week, and I'll write up at some point.)
Best,
