There is a 28 month old girl from Nepal diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma in her eyes; she has already lost her right eye, and will lose her left eye without treatment. Doctors at MD Anderson have found multiple tumors in her remaining left eye which can be saved with extensive cancer treatment. However, her family has financial hardship and cannot pay for the treatment. Recently, the hospital has stopped treatment because the charges reached to $90K, which seems to be the threshold for the hospital for the international patients. The family sold everything they had to come here. They have to take care of the hospital bills as well as take care of themselves when they return back to Nepal for follow-up treatment and living. Parents lost their jobs and entire property for the treatment of their beloved daughter.
Nepalese Association of Houston (NAH) has begun a fundraising for the treatment and to support family. Please open your heart and wallet to help for her eye treatment and to support the family. You can donate by visiting the site below;
