Board Nominations

Our club's board of directors has up to 14 members made up of the executive, 2 year term directors (with portfolio) and 1 year term directors (without portfolio).
 
The club's executive is the President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary, with each position being a two year term. 
 
The club aims to have eight 2 year directors. At the AGM, we don't directly elect directors to specific portfolios (though candidates can express areas of interest) - portfolios are distributed amongst the board members at the first meeting after the AGM, and can be adjusted as needed. The current portfolios are Touring, Touring Events, Racing Events, Youth Programs, Social, Education, Communications, and Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour
 
The club aims to have two 1 year directors (aka directors without portfolio). These positions are ideal for getting involved with the board of directors or for special projects and initiatives. 
 
In 2019, there will be openings on the Executive for President, Vice President, and Secretary;  four (4) of the two-year Directors; and two (2) one-year Directors. 
 
The OBC 2019 Director Nominating Committee will present candidates to the AGM on November 12, 2018.  If there is more than one nominee for any of the three open Executive positions, or if there are more than four nominees for two-year Directors, or if there are more than two nominees for one-year Directors, a vote will take place at the AGM.
 
Individuals who are members in good standing of the OBC may submit nominations of other members to the Committee prior to the meeting,  If you wish to nominate a member, please do so by email to obc.ed...@gmail.com, including a confirmation that the nominee has accepted.
