Here’s news about a new AI-powered tool (named TLDR) that summarizes research papers into snappy one-liners:

https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-03277-2

And here’s the prototype page where you can test drive this tool on your favorite research paper: https://scitldr.apps.allenai.org/

At the moment, it’s optimized for use on English language computer science papers. Enjoy!

Generated TLDR:

“International collaboration in COVID-19 research continues to show aberrant patterns compared to coronavirus research in pre-COVID times.”

It captured mine pretty succinctly:

“Bibliodiversity and Multilingualism in Scholarly Communications .”

I am pedantic enough to wonder at the word "summarization" instead of "summary."
Turns out the former is now the approved term for computer-generated summaries.
