Friends, Earlier today the Senate Appropriations Committee approved The Climate Center's two highest priority bills, SB 99 and SB 582. SB 99, the Community Energy Resilience Act, authored by Senator Bill Dodd, would create a new state program to provide local governments with technical assistance and funding to enable them to prepare community energy resilience plans based on clean energy, not polluting diesel generators. To urge your State Senator to support passage of SB 99, click the button below. TAKE ACTION FOR SB 99– COMMUNITY ENERGY RESILIENCE SB 582, authored by Senator Henry Stern, would establish California’s first-ever statutory net-negative greenhouse gas emissions goal, with a target date of 2035.
