Is there any sense that the constant state-of-emergency media barrage of global warming info is creating a desensitizing effect or even a backlash?  Seems like people are being handed a lot of don'ts these days and there may be a tendency for them to rebel.  After 20+ years of trying to mainstream the issue, progress seems to have slowed- to the point of requiring that Occupy switch gears away from economics and towards being reinforcements in work on AGW.  The anti-oligarch front is an important one and moving Occupy off of it is telling me something.

Also, strident calls for making AGW denial an illegal act or evidence of mental incompetence, i.e., making AGW critics or neutrals feel as though they are sociopaths, may be counter productive in the long run.  And anyone who has read some of the "deep ecology" literature might become alarmed at the extreme agendas expressed therein.  The global warming science may be "settled" but public debate would allow folks to judge for themselves as autonomous sentient humans.
