If you agree it's wrong that California allows dirty
oil & gas drilling in neighborhoods where children and adults
live, study and play, please SPEAK UP TODAY.
This Wednesday, the CA Senate Natural Resources & Water
Committee will vote on AB
345, a vital bill that would impose--for the first time
in our state--science-based setback limits around toxic
drilling. If we don't convince another Committee member to
vote for this bill, it will die.
Help us flood these 3 Committee members' offices with calls
from outraged moms & dads, aunts & uncles, grandmas &
grandpas:
📞 Senator Ben
Hueso: (916) 651-4040
📞 Senator Anna Caballero: (916)
651-4012
📞 Senator Bob
Hertzberg: (916) 651-4018
You don't need to be a constituent to call, but if you are,
let them know that!
Here is a sample script:
“My name is ___. As a Californian [and a
mother/father/grandparent, etc.], I ask you to protect public health
and safety by voting for AB
345 this Wednesday to establish a
2500-ft health-and-safety buffer
zone between dirty oil and gas drilling and
sensitive sites like homes, schools and playgrounds. It’s appalling
that 5.4 million Californians (predominantly people of color) live
within a mile of an oil or gas well, exposed to toxic air
pollution that makes us even more more vulnerable to
Covid-19. Can we count on you to protect
our health and climate by supporting our top
priority bill of the year, AB 345? Thank you!”
Please encourage others to call, too! Watch and
share our powerful
new video on why passing AB 345 is crucial for
climate justice in CA. You might see some faces you know!
Thank you for speaking up for environment justice today and a
livable climate tomorrow for all children,
Linda for Mothers Out Front California
