EcoSocialism; From Theory to Practice

Co-hosted by the Green Party of California & the Green EcoSocialist Network

Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, 1 - 3 PM PST

The Green Party of California invites you to join us for a discussion on Eco-Socialism cohosted with the Green EcoSocialist Network (GEN) and a number of County Green Parties. EcoSocialism; From Theory to Practice will be held on February 20, 1 PM PST.

Many people are considering what it means to be an EcoSocialist these days. In this second presentation of our three-part series, we explore how we can build EcoSocialist programs in our own communities. Our guest speakers include Kali AkunoShamako Noble, David Cobb, Mel Figueroa, David Bond, and others who will explore a number of specific programs in breakout sessions focused on non-reformists reforms that help implement an EcoSocialist future.
Register to attend HERE and share the Facebook event page.

The first event in this series, on Jan. 16, was an introduction to Eco-Socialism vs. Capitalism and the recording can be viewed HERE. The third and final event in this series on April 10th, 2021, will build on the first two.

We invite all organizations and County Green Parties to co-sponsor this event. Please contact us if your organization would like to be among our co-sponsors. Also please share and promote this event to your community groups and contacts.

This event is open to all and free, but advance registration is required at https://rebrand.ly/GreenEcoSocialism

This free, donation-based Symposium offers 17 sessions facilitated by artists, community members, and scholars. Sessions will focus on a wide range of topics including theater, music cooperatives, decolonizing the body, Hip Hop, Solidarity Economics, spirituality, and more. Each session offers a glimpse into the use of artistic and creative practice in re-imaging and creating a new society based on a Solidarity Economy. In addition to local community members and artists, the conference will feature visiting facilitators including Kwame Braxton and Shambe Jones of Cooperation Jackson, MS., Nati Linares of New Economy Network, David Ferris of the Highlander Center, and more.
