Neocons/Neolibs & MSM all sing from the same songsheet: War war war!!! Trump never gets positive media unless he's threatening war/carrying out military action. Today, Venezuela. Tomorrow, Iran? Cuba? Who’s next? No wonder NK won't give up their nukes. tulsi.to/support pic.twitter.com/K4zAIk5WhN

She is unique among the Democrats to say as much. But  let us not forget: for two centuries Washington has been ruled by the Monroe Doctrine of 1823 which declared Latin America and Caribbean the “backyard”of the United States. What Trump administration has been doing in Venezuela with bipartisan support did not begin with him and U.S. imperialist policy in Latin America and the rest of the world has been going on for a very long time usually with the quiet complicity of the American public (the Vietnam antiwar movement was an inspiring exception. But where is the public outage against the 18-year U.S. war in Afghanistan that has killed more civilians than the Taliban has?).

I submit we can never "solve" the socio-ecological crisis, including the climate crisis, without at the same time tackling U.S. imperialism (for a discussion of this see, A Future for American Capitalism or The Future of Life on Earth).

For the Earth,
