The Climate Mobilization

Bay Area Mobilizers--

The Bay Area can lead the way on fighting the climate emergency!

On Tuesday, June 12, Berkeley City Council is voting on two bold climate resolutions that have the potential to rock the Bay Area and the US -- and we need your vocal support to make sure they pass!

WHAT: Public Comments at Berkeley City Council Meeting

WHEN: Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 6pm

WHERE: Berkeley City Hall
2180 Milvia Street
Berkeley, CA 94704

WHY: Historic Vote on Climate Measures

RSVP HERE

FYI- You can offer a comment at a Berkeley City Council meeting, even if you are not a Berkeley resident!

Action Item #49 declares a climate emergency, endorses a just citywide emergency mobilization effort to end greenhouse gas emissions as quickly as possible, and calls for a Bay Area town hall and collaborative just mobilization effort.

Consent Item #30 commits Berkeley to actively oppose the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure, achieve a 100% reduction in greenhouse emissions by 2030, and partner with labor unions and other groups to create training and retraining programs for workers affected by the transition.

These resolutions are essential to Berkeley's future, and have the potential to inspire similar measures in cities across the Bay Area and the country. Let's come out in force on Tuesday to demonstrate the breadth of support for these resolutions. And if you're interested in getting more involved in the Bay Area, let us know!

Onward!
