How to get Work-category from api

[Param]

I am using 2 APIs

/v2.1/{orcid} /works

/v2.1/{orcid} /works /{putcode }

I am getting all the metadata for work.But i couldn't get work-category.

Is there a way to get it?Please help...

Hi Param,

We call work category "type" in the API.  The list of types is here: https://members.orcid.org/api/resources/work-types

In XML it looks like this: <work:type>artistic-performance</work:type>

The v2.0 work schema is here: https://github.com/ORCID/ORCID-Source/blob/master/orcid-model/src/main/resources/record_2.0/work-2.0.xsd
An example is here: https://github.com/ORCID/ORCID-Source/blob/master/orcid-model/src/main/resources/record_2.1/samples/read_samples/work-2.1.xml

Work-types comes under work-category.

But i need the work-category .

Is anywhere work-category captured?

Work category is a UI helper that narrows down selection of work-type.  You will notice that the work-type dropdown contents change when you select a category.

If you really need category for your model, then you can calculate it based on work-type.
