We would like to use slf4j markers together with pax logging.

The idea is to forward all log events with a certain marker to a special appender.
Ist this supported in pax logging?

I have found that log4j supports markers starting with version 2.0. Currently pax logging uses log4j 1.x so I assume markers are not yet supported.

Is this correct? Are there plans to switch to a log4j version that supports markers?

Markers aren't supported by pax-logging.
Upgrading to log4j 2.x sounds like a really good idea to me in any case.

I am very interested in Markers as well. I have been wanting to see if
I could add them. I just haven't found the time yet...:(

Yeah.
Markers, or any other way, to capture all events from a specific king in a custom appender would be really interesting.
Currently in doing kind of rustic pattern matching on the message content in my custom appender. It really doesn't feel right...
