Hello Everyone,

I am pleased to announce the first release of an OSIS version, of Seth (Avi) Kadish's Miqra according to the Mesorah.  One of his goals was to preserve the Hebrew Bible structure, including weekly Torah readings.  This has been maintained in the OSIS version.

The OSIS version can be found at
https://github.com/openscriptures/morphhb
under MAPM.

For a more detailed description of the text, see
http://opensiddur.org/transcriptions/מקרא-על-פי-המסורה-miqra-al-pi-ha-mesorah-a-new-experimental-edition-of-the-tanakh-online/
And to read the text online, see
http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/User:Dovi/Miqra_according_to_the_Mesorah

Note: Under WikiSource policy, the characters of the text have been rearranged.  The OSIS version fixes this, listing the Hebrew as consonant-shin/sin dot-dagesh-vowel-cantillation.

This text is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike

Peace,

David

Over in the Open Siddur discussion group on Facebook, Seth (Avi) Kadish shared this important information:

This is the result of several months of working with David, and sending files and corrections back and forth. I am very grateful for his help.

People should still note, however, that David's files have been prepared with a certain purpose in mind, namely the analysis of cantillation structure. They may be useful for many other important purposes as well. However, they do not preserve all of the information in the Wikisource version. This includes first and foremost the documentation of the nosah, and also various distinctions within the text itself (e.g. different traditions regarding qamaz qatan, legarmeih and pasek, etc.). For the time being at least, updates at least in the near future will still be going on at Wikisource.
