Hello friends, I am from Peru, an I would want to join to "Open Scriptures" group, please, accept me.

I am writting a  "free" python software to study the scriptures, however I dont know where find the strong dictionary, I have copied it from Esword software, for this reason, my software only searchs greek words by their greek code ("G456"), I dont like this, If you would  help me, I would be so grateful.

I know that each greek word have small variations, I would want enter a greek word, and my software search all texts that use this greek word, or those texts which use their variations of the greek word, but I dont have the variations of each greek word.

I wait for your answer, thank you.

PD. sorry for my English, I dont dominate it yet.

If you base your software on the sword library from CrossWire you have hundreds of books, bibles and commentaries at your disposal for free. The only requirement is to keep your software open source. Strong's and much else is covered.

Sent from my phone. Apologies for brevity and typos.

Hello,

Here is a source for Strong's Greek dictionary:
https://github.com/morphgnt/strongs-dictionary-xml
Other files on the same site may be helpful for working with the New Testament also.

Peace,

David

Luis,

I think the Strong's dictionary at OpenScriptures is derived from the link I gave you.  I am not directly involved in the Greek side of OpenScriptures, so I could be wrong.

The LXX is available here:
http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/gopher/text/religion/biblical/lxxmorph/

Any questions about eSword would have to be directed to that project.

Peace,

David

Hellow Luis, I am from Brazil. Não sei espanhol, mas acho que você pode entender meu Português. I know that in this website a Spanish version of the Strong's dictionary is provided with the Reina-Valera 1909 Bible. http://bibliaparalela.com/hebrew/6956.htm . I think you should contact Rubén Gómez.

Hello Luis:

Xiphos or other Crosswire programs are free and work well.  Another place is http://www.tyndale.cam.ac.uk/ they too have software and material, both on the web and downloadable.

I can do some things off line (at my email) if you want.  don't want to overpower all else that is available.

Thanks brothers,

May you tell me if I can use this LLX text in my software, what the license about?

I developed my software, because, I cant find a spanish software which can search a greek word in the New Testament and in the Old Testament too (LXX), I copied the information from the program E-Sword only for me (because of the licenses), I copied only the strong codes (G123, G13566...) from the LXX (the books not apocryphal), and the text of RV1960 with strong codes, and now my software find a strong code in the NT and in the LXX. However I could not find the strong codes of  ALL LLX books (including the apocryphal books), for this reason my software is not able to find a greek strong code of the apocryphal books of the LLX. It become more difficult, because each greek word has INFLECTIONS, so, we need the inflections of each greek word.

I found a very usefull web page, where we can find many texts which use a greek word, including the inflections:

in this link I searched "ἐπερώτημα" to understand the greek word used in 1 Peter 3 : 21, and now I know what means.

I use my software only for me, but I would want share it, but it is difficult because of the licenses of the spanish strong dictionary, and the license of RV1960 with strong codes.

Maybe spanish people can collaborate to make a spanish strong  dictionary with a free license. And improve the old greek dictionary with inflections.

Thanks for your time.
