Issues syncing controller with designer

Hi,

Appreciate that this is a super simple issue but was hoping I could get some help (am very fresh to Raspberry Pi, and programming in general, so please bear with me).

I'm having issues getting the controller to sync with my designer account. I keep getting 'Authentication failed, please check username and password'.

I've tried multiple variations to check I wasn't being an idiot (tried username and email).

Could it be to do with the startup files being owned by root not pi? If so, how do I ) check this and 2) change it?
