Hello group,

This is an update regarding the latest development in the OpenRefine community. Thad and myself feel the need to have more contributors / committers helping with OpenRefine development. We are using two complementary approche:
  • setting up a clear governance model in order to have new project committers
  • using bounty source to incite developers.

I've just published a new blog entry on OpenRefine blog. It is a call for a governance document to help OpenRefine community grow. I also start drafting the governance document and it is now waiting for your feedback and pull request.

An article providing details on we can use bountysource is planned separatly during the week.

Finally, there is currently several active and interesting branch of OpenRefine and it will be nice if the developers can update the community with the issue they are trying to fix, their approach and current results. Moving forward it would be interesting to know individual goals and expectation for the project, what do you think is needed to achieve those goals, and what you are willing to contribute. You can share your thoughts through this discussion list or even submit article to be published on the blog.

I see the blog as a place to share idea and update the community with local development or specific vision for the project. Anyone is welcome to submit their article via pull request.

Martin
