Hi folks,

The RJIS data that ATOC provides includes the helpful .LOC file that details all locations including station groupings - but only does so with the older names from the non-image capable printers.

The NR reference (dailies) also has locations with longer human readable names (for the image capable printers) - but doesn't include station groupings.

Does anyone know where you can get station groupings data with the human readable names?

Example: Manchester Stations / MANCHESTER STNS

Thanks,

Rob.

I don't believe that data is currently within an open data set, although it is in a data set which is on the open data roadmap. However, as that's not coming in the near future, and as fare groups rarely change, you may want to use the below snapshot from industry data...

I've also just noted a potential typo: is the Pontefract Monkhll entry missing an i?

That looks more like the long name field length is 27 hence missing it's the extra l

"Cambridge or Cambridge North" is 29 characters long.

Thanks RDG - much appreciated.

Out of curiousity I notice the term 'industry data' being used a lot here - is that used to describe data that is not accessible / licensed for third parties?

I ask because my preference is to automate as much data import from the source as possible (our platform has a process that helps the user digitise content from their ticket, so having accurate info is important).

That's relatively easy with National Rail reference data, less so with the ATOC RJIS data, and this is obviously pretty manual!

@Rob - yes, I'm using the phrase here to identify data which is mandated for use within the rail industry. In this case there is a set of reference data which is provided to TIS by a system called IDMS and, for any familiar with the RDG TIS accreditation process and ASSIST, is captured in RDG standard RSPS5044.

This data is not currently available via an open channel. It is on the radar to be added in but for reasons I unfortunately can't control it is not going to be added to the open set in the near future, although I hope that will change at some point.

@Thomas/@Peter. I just copied the data as-is so I don't know if that spelling is deliberate or an error. I'll pass on to the relevant person in RDG to advise.

Thanks @RDG - Appreciate these things can often take time, at least I've got some manual data to import for now.

Colleagues confirm the missing 'i' in Pontefract Monkhill was an error - I've updatd the wiki page you created accordingly.
