Hi there,

I was using your ground motion prediction equation in  subduction zone  (abrahamson2015) and beside the 'REQUIRES_SITES_PARAMETERS' appears backarc.
My enquiry is how can I active the forearc/backarc flag? It is sufficient write the command line  sites_backarc = 1 and sites_backarc = 0 (i.e. for forearc sites).

However, by defaulting does it work in backarc or in forearc?

Best Regards
Domenico

Dear Domenico,

The backarc parameter is a boolean, so it should be sufficient to write "backarc = true" in the site configuration parameters of the job.ini (under Vs30, reference depths etc.). The same applies if you use the site_model.xml instead, you would simply need to set backarc="true".

By default the backarc term will be set to false, so it is assuming the site is in the forearc.

Thanks,

Graeme
