OpenQuake 1.2 has been released

The release 1.2 of the OpenQuake Engine is out!

This is the first official release of the engine after the release 1.0 of June 2013 (NB: there is no release 1.1).

This releases is a major improvement with respect to the 1.0 release, especially in terms of performances.

This new release will create a new database called openquake2.
After installation, the new database will have to be initialized with the command

$ oq-engine --upgrade-db

The fine points about the database migration mechanism are explained here:


If you are an user of the nightly builds, you are already using the
database structure underlying the 1.2 release, since it has been
introduced starting from the nightly builds of August 2014, the 21st.
The --upgrade-db command will automatically upgrade your database.
