Hello

I get this error when I want to mail to users.

Best regards.

olat.local.properties like this.

smtp.host=smtp.yandex.com

I think smtp.host and smtp.port are wrong now and I need to get their correct from the provider?

I also want other users in the system to be able to send mail to the administrator. In other words, I want to send mail from the administrator and receive mail from other users.

Hello

The combination of port 587 and SSL/StartTLS both set to false will not
work. It is most likely SSL, so try setting that to true.

OpenOlat can send mails but will never receive mails. It is not a mailbox. It has a small mail box feature, however this does only show mails that are sent within the systems. You can not send from the outside into OpenOlat.

error same again? I'm trying to send it to my gmail address. Could it be related to this?

also not from outside. Can't a user registered in OpenOLAT system send mail to an OpenOLAT user over OpenOLAT?

Hello Scott,

it is possible, that the recipient's spam rules are not in favour of
emails sent from a different domain than the domain of the mailaddress
in the "from" of that mail.

You should try setting the smtp.from= in your olat.local.properties to
an address that belongs to the domain of the mailaccount you are using.
It will be used as "envelope from" and not overwrite the actual "from".
