openolat doesnt start

as per installation guidelines in https://www.openolat.com/fileadmin/adminwiki/_START_.html I installed openolat. tomcat starts but the output is ./start
Using CATALINA_BASE:   /home/openolat/tomcat
Using CATALINA_HOME:   /home/openolat/tomcat
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /home/openolat/tomcat/temp
Using JRE_HOME:        /home/openolat/jre
Using CLASSPATH:       /home/openolat/tomcat/bin/bootstrap.jar:/home/openolat/tomcat/bin/tomcat-juli.jar
Tomcat started.

by giving the command  : catalina.sh stop -force
Using CATALINA_BASE:   /home/openolat/tomcat
Using CATALINA_HOME:   /home/openolat/tomcat
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /home/openolat/tomcat/temp
Using JRE_HOME:        /home/openolat/jre
Using CLASSPATH:       /home/openolat/tomcat/bin/bootstrap.jar:/home/openolat/tomcat/bin/tomcat-juli.jar
Kill failed: $CATALINA_PID not set

How to resolve. I tried with tomcat 7, 8 with the same result.

I have just updated the installation manuals for both, the PostgreSQL and the MySQL installation. There have been little bugs.

 

In your case, I would have a look at the changes where we introduce the setenv.sh and the .bashrc - and please, do not forget to activate the .bashrc by either logging out and in again or by issuing the command . .bashrc
