fk_lifecycle column value in o_repositoryentry table

Hi , 

While creating a course Null value is passed to fk_lifecycle column value in o_repositoryentry table. Because of that when detailed view of course is opened value of execution period is not visible. On "modify description" of course  value of fk_lifecycle is get updated with id  field's value o_repositoryentry_cycle table.

Please let me know if this is implemented for specific purpose in this way . we need to modify logic so that value of fk_lifecycle will not be Null on course creation , so that execution period value whatever was selected by user will display on screen as there is a join on both the table using above two fields for select query.

Please revert asap.

Hi

The lifecycle is added if the author/user want it. It must go in "Learning Resources" > "Detailed view" > "Modify description"

But a lifecycle is never mandatory. If you want to make it mandatory, you must change the controllers to create and import resources and courses, the course wizard, the web services and enforce the use of the lifecycle...

Also you can use a left join and check null for the lifecycle.
