Hello Florian,
so now it is possible to configure Shibboleth directly inside OpenOLAT Admin GUI  ?

Thanks

Hi Oronzo

No, unfortunately Shibboleth is a bastard and does require a deep understanding of Shibboleth itself and the specific implementation of the federation you want to embed. The metadata configuration has to be done in the XML files as before. We think it does not help a lot to have a GUI for that.

We added an additional authentication feature where you can white-list users based on Shibboleth Attributes. This is usefull when you do not want to allow all users of your IDP to login to your OpenOLAT system. Usually authorization is granted based on IDP authentication, this is the level of granularity. If you need more, you can configure this now in the GUI.

Since the updating of the allowed attributes is something manager should be able to do (e.g. update the list of allowed class names) we added a GUI. The basic configuration must be done by the system administrator / developer.

Cheers
Florian

I understood that it is difficult to integrate Shibolett if you do not know well. A system for SSO OpenOLAT as CAS would be easier to integrate in your opinion?
Thanks

No, OpenOLAT has no CAS support so far. Best option is to use oAuth2 if you want to do SSO integration. Active Directory Federation server supports oAuth out of the box for example. On the OpenOLAT side you need to do some coding for a specific oAuth implementation, there are some examples you can look at (Twitter, Facebook, GooglePlus, LinkedIn).

If you want to do CAS, you have to start from scratch.

Cheers
