Dear all, Dear Alfonso,

I'm looking to a way to introduce / simulate error-prone channel conditions in IEEE 802.11 INET implementation.

You can consider a basic scenario where an Access Point is communicating with a singles Station. The main goals is to introduce errors in this communication.

I would to know your opinion about the best and more accurate way to perform this task. I have identified two main possibilities:

1) Increase the thermal noise in the channel;
2) Implement an error model upon receiving frame in PHY/MAC layer using, for instance, a Gilbert-Elliot model.

Looking forward to receive for feedback,

Thanks in advance,

The easier is modifying the error tables or increase the thermal noise, with this you don’t need to modify the source code, the most flexible without to modify the source code is using the tables.

Hi Alfonso,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Do you mean change/create a new error table like the well-known "per_table_80211g_Trivellato" ?

Yes, if you modified this table you will modify the bit error behavior
