1.  Program August 12:  Rep. Kevin Calvey, Judicial Tyranny Part II

Thomas Jefferson said that the Constitution was “a mere thing of wax in the hands of the judiciary which they may twist and shape into any form they please.”

Rep. Kevin Calvey (R-OKC) will continue our discussion of judicial tyranny and what we need to do to seat judges of a more conservative caliber.  He will explain why our system allows certain organizations too much influence over judicial appointments, and he will explain his plan to correct the appointment process.

2.  “Because I said so!”

“Little Sammy, take out the trash.  Little Sammy, clean your room,” says Mom.

“But why?” cries Little Sammy.

“Because I said so!”

This explanation only works when you are the parent.  Why?  Because everyone knows that parents have authority over their children.  They are the boss of those they created.  As some parents have been known to threaten, “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.”

If anything could restore order and sanity to our union these days, it would be a recollection by state leaders that they are the parents.  Parents do not enter into a relationship with a child to create that child.  They do it with each other.  The states came together and created a union via a legal compact we call the Constitution of the United States.

Prior to their union, the states existed as sovereign, independent states on equal footing with the state of Great Britain or the state of France.  The states have their own constitutions, their own chief executives, their own legislative bodies, their own courts, and their own capitols.  No state actually needs the union it helped to create.  The states created the union for mutual benefit to carry out certain tasks.  The constitution tells Little Sammy (a.k.a. Uncle Sam) what his jobs are if he wants to receive an allowance:

“Little Sammy, mind the money.  Little Sammy, deliver the mail.  Defend the borders, would you, Little Sammy?”

That is about it.  We do not have many expectations of our child.  The seventeen chores we have given him almost all relate to the big three just mentioned:  Money, Mail, and Military.  Only now little Sammy has become a spoiled, rotten brat who expects to receive his allowance without completing his assigned chores.  In fact, he steals more than his allowance and goes around doing things he has not been authorized to do.  He has also become the neighborhood bully, telling all the parents on the block what to do or else.

He tells us parents that we have to let our neighbors kill babies.  He tells us we have to recognize and accept gay marriage.  He demands that we steal health insurance premiums and college tuition from our neighbors.  The list goes on and on.  Imagine a young child telling the adults on his block that they need to encourage and celebrate anal sex and then force their neighbors to pay for the health care costs associated with AIDS.  This is where we are, folks.

This is going to require discipline from the parents.  When little Sammy misbehaves, we parents should not call a meeting to change the rules (Article V Convention) which little Sammy refuses to obey.  No, we enforce the rules.  Why?  Because we said so!  We created the brat.  We are the parents.  We need to cut his allowance and ground his activities.  Little Sammy needs discipline.  Here is a great four-minute video on the difference between changing the rules and enforcing the rules.

As with a real child, this will not be easy.  There will be tantrums.  There will be power struggles.  It could get ugly and embarrassing for Little Sammy, and it will try our patience.  But he needs tough love.  Our brat has no right to tell us what to do, and we must teach him to respect the rules (the Constitution).  They are there for our protection and benefit.

Here at the grassroots level, we know we are the parents.  We have vested our authority in our state governor and legislators, all of whom have taken an oath to uphold our state constitution and the U.S. Constitution.  Governor Fallin, the legislature is getting in gear.  We need you to speak out with them.  Be the parent we hired you to be!

3.  What About the Satanic Goat Idol?

Last week we heard how the Oklahoma Supreme Court botched an opinion about the monument to celebrate and commemorate God’s law which is the basis of our civil law.  You may recall amidst all the brouhaha over the Ten Commandments that a satanic group wanted to place an idol of a goat on the capitol grounds.  Ever wonder what happened to it?  It found a home near an industrial warehouse…down by the river…in Detroit.  As if Detroit needed any more help in its downward spiral.  I could not ascertain if the idol was placed on public or private property.
