++  AGENDA FOR THIS WEEK’S MEETING

Our 12 noon luncheon for Wednesday, August 13th, 2014, will be held at Olivet Baptist Church, 1201 Northwest 10th street in OKC. This past Wednesday, we watched the DVD, Constitution Si, Amnesty No, then spent the rest of the meeting with Q&A on the invasion of illegal aliens rather than getting to my presentation about Oklahoma standards and the final editing process for the 2015 or 2016  8th grade American history test. We may discuss some of that this week, but our guest Speaker will be Pat McGuigan. Pat is an accomplished author, educator, newspaper man, historian and speaker.

During the 1990-91 debate over H.B. 1017 (the most comprehensive education reform bill in our history) Pat was the editor of the editorial page at the Oklahoman. At that time, in my opinion, the Oklahoman was a more conservative paper than it is today. During the month’s leading up to passage of the bill, the Oklahoman published many editorials exposing the real problems and some of the possible solutions involving our government schools. I have said all that to say, Pat has a significant degree of expertise regarding education and I have asked him to come and relate some of what we should, or should not be working toward during the creation of Oklahoma’s unique standards. As time goes on we will do more programs on this important issue, because the forces that believe in central planning and a socialist government as well as “hope and change” will not give up their grip on the government schools without a fight.

++  DECISIONS FROM OCPAC BOARD MEETING

The OCPAC officers had a board meeting at my home Sunday afternoon to discuss important business and the way forward to best transition into a different President for OCPAC next year. A year ago March, I mentioned that this might be my last term as President, a decision I have now made. The election for our officers will occur on Wednesday, March 25th, 2015 with the Wednesday before being dedicated to interviewing all candidates running for the various offices.

Most likely during the final Wednesday of this September we will vote to determine the candidates we support in the general elections and at the same time we will submit to a vote of the members a couple of changes to our by-laws. One of which is to create a new board position for me and that would be the Founding President Emeritus/Ambassador position. Once the new President is selected, I will work with him or her for several months if necessary to make the transition as smooth and effective as possible. In addition, I will soon start building a special e-mail list for me to write more of a blog type commentary on current events while the new President will continue with the weekly e-mails.

I certainly have my limitations, so it is with great anticipation that the next President and team of volunteer leaders can take OCPAC to new heights. In the near future I will publish some of the duties and tasks done by me and our other leaders so folks might consider if they should step up and offer themselves as a new leader. I believe most of the team surrounding me at this time is willing to continue in their capacities, but even those positions are open for election. More on this later.

++  SATANIST’S BLACK MASS, TIME TO STOP CIVIC CENTER CANCER!

If you have been following the news lately you know a fellow is wanting to rent the little theater in the basement of the Civic Center to host a mockery of the Sacred Mass which is a holy ritual within the Roman Catholic Church. This Satanic version, known as the black mass, is in my opinion intended to pervert something good and offend as many in the community as possible. It was around Christmas of last year that local homosexuals were offending all Biblical Christians by some mockery all in the name of art. What these people of perversion want to do in private or the market place may be bad enough, but it appears as if they want to use public places to rub it in the face of the good folks in the community.

Here is the rub, since it is a public place then all groups, whether good or evil, have equal access according to the law and for our elected officials to deny access to one of these rebellious groups promoting perversion, would invite a lawsuit that the city would most likely lose. I appreciate Archbishop Coakley taking a thoughtful but firm stand against this blasphemous and disrespectful production. He should be supported by Catholics and Protestants alike, but it is very unlikely that the perversion can be stopped by the mayor and city council.

However, maybe it is time to think outside of the box. If this little theatre that seats about a hundred people is being used for little more than an irritating nuisance with little social redeeming value, maybe the best approach is for the city to simply shut this theatre down and turn it into a storage room. Maybe it is time to eliminate the cancer! Since it is small, I believe it rents for about $475 a night. Therefore, insignificant groups promoting perversion can afford to rent it, whereas the larger auditorium may rent for $10,000 or so a night? It would be unlikely these groups would fork over the higher rent for events; but if they did, they would look like a bunch of really silly losers renting a huge facility with a small number of people showing up for a presentation.

If that doesn’t work, maybe the city should look into selling the Civic Center to someone in the free market. If it is a viable venue and there is a market for such a facility, then someone will bid on it, if not, then one might wonder why the taxpayers are in that business?

++  GOV FALLIN & GARVIN COUNTY, COWARDS OR NOT READY FOR BATTLE?

This past week I noticed on the local new cast a story about the Garvin County Republican Party Chairman backpedaling on an event they had planned, with Governor Fallin as the keynote guest. It seems as their advertising brochure included some other discussion items to be presented besides Governor Fallin’s appearance. Listed on the flyer was a teaser about learning facts regarding the NRA, the KKK, and one or two other organizations.

Of course the local Democrats, lead by Oklahoma party chair Wallace Collins, screamed that the sky was falling because the Republicans were obviously promoting the KKK. Then we were also told the story was being picked up by the thought and information Nazi’s across the nation, basically suggesting Republicans were identical twins to the KKK.

Now folks, that was not at all what the flyer was advertising. It simply suggested coming to learn interesting information about several different groups. It appears to me the Garvin County Chair panicked and apologetically suggested he did not do a good job conveying a message. Then of course, once he admitted error, Governor Fallin, the bastion of courage she happens to be, immediately canceled her appearance with one of her spokesman issuing a statement that Governor Fallin would never appear before a group advertising the KKK.

Now folks what is missing in this whole episode, is the information to be conveyed about the KKK. Were the local Republicans going to expose the KKK for being started by Democrats and operating with the vast majority of its members being Democrats? If that were true, is it any wonder that the local and national Democrats screamed in an attempt to silence Republicans and keep such information away from a location in Oklahoma with a majority Democrat registration? What good people must realize, is when dealing with Democrats, leftists and progressives, truth is of little consequence to them. Honesty and truth are quite often not a part of their nature.

Therefore Republicans must understand truth, and be able to convey such when under false allegations and a complicit media bent on helping advance political correctness in favor of the Democrats. Republicans must learn how to stand up to an unfriendly media and other of our enemies. Besides being prepared for the conflict, Republican really need to develop a backbone and run every time the Democrats misrepresent a statement, event or issue.

I look forward to seeing everyone this Wednesday.
