1.  Speaker April 29:  Josh Blair “Discrimination on Campus”

Josh Blair is the founder and President of Valid Worldview, a registered student organization at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) where he is finishing his undergraduate work before entering law school.  The mission of Valid Worldview is to help UCO students develop a view of the world based on truth instead of lies, on objective Judeo-Christian values rather than subjective humanist values.  Josh is also a senator in UCO Student Government and chairman of the Campus Development Committee.  Josh will speak about how the campus community actively and systematically discriminates against Judeo-Christian values.

2.  Feeding Pigs to Chickens

We all know what pork is.  It is unnecessary, improper, good-ol’-boy kickbacks to privileged industries, companies, or individuals.  Liberal politicians try to disguise pork by calling it “corporate tax credits,” “economic development,” or “incentives,” but pork by any other name is still just pig fat, and now we’re feeding it to chicken farmers.

Just after I railed against the immorality of the Oklahoma Quality Jobs Act in this newsletter, the legislature expanded the program to include chicken egg producers with SB71 by Senator Mark Allen.  This is going to leave some so-called conservative legislators with egg on their faces.

The reasoning bears repeating.  When a company receives public assistance, those funds come from everyone, including that company’s competitors.  The Quality Jobs Act is legally forcing companies to stab themselves in the back by giving money and a competitive edge to their rivals.  It also encourages every company to belly up to the socialist trough at 23rd and Lincoln.  Freedom and private ownership mean companies succeed or fail on their own, not because state fascists steal from one group and give to another.

3.  Continue Tax Credits for Wind?  Only When Pigs Fly

Remember, “corporate tax credit” or “incentive” is just a slick way of saying that government has picked who gets an unfair advantage or that government has chosen to prop up an unprofitable industry.  The state of Oklahoma has given out or given up tens of millions of dollars per year to the wind industry in the form of tax credits and real estate tax breaks.

We have already covered tax credits above.  They are the same pigs and chicken song, second verse.  We should not feed pork to chickens, and we should not give tax credits to wind farmers either, at least not until pigs can fly in that wind.

As for real estate taxes, they are immoral and ought to be abolished across the board for everyone.  Taxing a person’s personal property is theft and violates the natural law of private property ownership.  Taxing property just once is bad enough, let alone taxing it every year, over and over and over.  But until we do away with real estate taxes (probably when pigs fly), we should not play at fascism by granting temporary immunity to one particular business or industry.

Please, legislators and governor, let the wind credits and incentives expire and blow away.  If wind turbines are not profitable without unfairly changing the rules for them, then they really are not profitable at all, and they do not need to litter up our gorgeous sunsets.
