Hi - I am a new registered user and look forward to many years with this excellent program.

I am also a user of Treepad, and one feature I see there that I cannot see is duplicated here is hyperlinks WITHIN a single article.  In other words, I anticipate that each article/note will end up being fairly long, with the text scrolling down off the screen in many paragraphs, and I am hoping that links can be set to take one via hyperlink not only to the top of the particular node/note, but also to a particular location WITHIN the article/note.

As I understand it, Treepad does this via an ANCHOR and LINK system, where Anchors can be set anywhere in a note.

Does Notecase Pro have this feature (perhaps I am missing it)?  Are you planning on adding it, or could you add it to the to-do list?

I scanned prior questions here and saw one on Linking, but not *within* notes to particular places within a single note (I hope I am clear on that function; if not, let me know).

That also raises a question in my mind -- since you allow imports from Treepad files, how are you handling anchors within notes?  Are those simply being stripped out?

Thanks for your fine program.  I've been looking for something over the last several weeks that seemed feature-rich, under active development, and with a user forum such as this where questions could be asked.  I am a longtime Ecco-Pro user and think this is likely one of the best "replacements" for that.  I also intend to use this to develop lesson plans and export to HTML, which it looks like you have great features to do.  This use for the development of "lesson plans" with fairly lengthy articles/notes is the main reason I am asking about this "internal-within-a-note" anchor/linking ability.

Thank you very much!

Hi, Ciscerosc,

I'll answer parts of your email. Miro (the developer) has a time zone
difference to deal with and may be asleep.

NoteCase Pro presently has no support for inline hyperlinks. I don't
know how it handles inline links when importing Treepad documents but
suspect that it strips them, leaving the link's label as text. (That's
the result if you create them by editing a note's raw HTML source.)
Miro will undoubtedly answer that question when he next appears.

If you intend to write lesson plans using NC Pro for export to HTML,
you might be interested in two scripts I've developed, which I attach.
One adds support for presently unsupported HTML elements. That one
gets assigned to the Before Note HTML Exported event trigger.

The other, best assigned to a keyboard shortcut or toolbar icon, adds
the ability to enclose selected text in the unsupported elements.

These two scripts require rudimentary knowledge of HTML.

The HTML tags the export script supports are:

1. <BLOCKQUOTE></BLOCKQUOTE>
2. <CITE></CITE>
3. <CODE></CODE>
4. <DD></DD>
5. <DL></DL>
6. <DT></DT>
7. <HR>
8. <LI></LI>
9. <OL></OL>
10. <P></P>
11. <PRE></PRE>
12. <UL></UL>

If you open the attached document, you will find complete instructions
in each script for their configuration and usage.

NoteCase Pro actually has support for <UL> and <LI> but does not
enable nesting of unordered lists. These elements are supported in
these scripts because that enables nested lists, and the <LI> element
is needed for creating ordered lists.

Please let me know if you need any other assistance with the scripts.

Best regards,

Paul

As said by Paul, there is no support for anchors yes, but it is on to-do list.
I got the same task requested lately by one other user too, so I plan to give it a try soon.

Not sure really, I just did not use file with such feature when I implemented the import. Perhaps you can give it a test, and pass the sample file to me if any bug occurs (which is likely for this particular case).

Regards,
  Miroslav

Thanks for your response Miro!  I will let you know what I find when I try to do such an import.

And I appreciate your consideration of this as part of your "to-do" list ;-)
