Coaches :

8 items for you this week: QT Reg opens this week,  QT Reg process, Not competing,  Deadline for team rosters, Design Contest Deadline,More game updates, Coach Coffee Chats,  Help needed.

1)  QT Reg Opens 10/8 at 7pm.    Tournament Registration will open for all 3 districts for "Round 1" eligible teams.  You will be able to register by clicking on the yellow box that will show up on the top / right of the home page of www.norcalfll.org.   Your team's status will be updated by Tuesday night if you are eligible to register in Round 1.   Explanation and Screenshots of Registration Process

2)
Qualifier Tournament Registration Process and PreReqs:  There are 2 NorCal-specific prerequisites that must be completed to be able to register into a Qualifier Tournament (QT).     We have many teams that have not yet started and I will have to start calling coaches by this weekend...

3) If your team is not going to compete this year,  save me time and effort of trying repeatedly to reach you via email and phone and just let me know if your team is not going to register to compete.  A simple email is sufficient

4) EXTENDED DEADLINE to 10/7:  Too many team have not "printed a copy" of their TIMS-based FIRST Team Roster and uploaded it to NorCal. This is required - we don't have access to your team's Team Roster on the FIRST site.  I have extended the deadline to complete this to Tuesday 10/7 at 7pm.  After that I won't have time to review before registration opens.    Many people are confused what the TIMS Team Roster is -  here is everything that I have figured out with several teams' help.

5) DEADLINE 10/11:  Design Contesthelp by designing a cool, FLL World Class themed graphic that we can use for all of our FLL Championship Volunteer shirts.   We like doing a custom design instead of just printing the challenge theme logo but we are design challenged!  That is where you can help.

6) Did you see the 10/1 Challenge Game/Project Update!

7) Coach's Coffee Chatwe had too few experienced coaches offer to help and  I just don't have the bandwidth to manage this across the region, so am going to cancel this weekend's get togethers.

8) Help needed in planning the FLL Championship events If you can help with preparations for at least one of the District Championships, please let me know.   The effort estimate ranges from just a  few hours in total effort to a few hours a week.   We also recently started putting together descriptions for a variety of volunteer "staff" type of roles to help manage the 800+ FIRST Teams that we are trying to support.  Many hands, make light work  :-)

On a final note, Playing At Learning received the WRRF Director's Award at last weekend's CalGames event.  Mark was on hand to receive -  thanks WRRF Board for the recognition!

Regards,
