On 5/26/18 at 12:10a.m., Ptl. Jared Zappa was on Sparta Avenue when he observed a blue Ford Fusion fail to maintain its lane of travel as it proceeded eastbound on Sparta Avenue. Ptl. Zappa also noticed that the vehicle had no inspection sticker and an inoperable headlight.

Subsequently, the vehicle was stopped and its driver was identified as Jonathan J. Dsouza, age 29, of Jersey City, NJ.  Upon further investigation, the lone female passenger, (who initially provided false information), was eventually identified as Krystyn N. Romualdo, age 34, of Landing, NJ.

A check revealed that active warrants existed for Romualdo from Randolph and Frankford Joint Court with a total of $2,250.00 bail.

As a result, Romualdo was taken into custody and a search incident to arrest yielded 2 straws to ingest CDS and 20 bags of suspected heroin.  Romualdo was charged with the following offenses before being turned over to Randolph Police and lodged in the Morris County Jail:

N.J.S. 2C:29-1A        Obstruction of the Administration of Law (Disorderly Persons)

N.J.S. 2C:29-3B(4)   Hindering Apprehension  (Disorderly Persons)

N.J.S. 2C:36-2          Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Disorderly Persons)

N.J.S. 2C:35-10(A)(1)  Possession of CDS (Heroin)  (3rd Degree)

Dsouza was issued for the following motor vehicle violations.

39:4-88    Failure to Maintain Lane

39:3-66    Maintenance of Lamps

39:8-1      Failure to Inspect

Case pending court.
