On 2/21/19 at 11:17a.m., Ptl. Jared Zappa stopped a motor vehicle on Main Street for having an obstructed view and unclear rear license plate.  While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, (identified as Leif Leeman, age 20 of Hamburg, NJ and his passenger, Adil Akcay, age 21, of Branchville, NJ), Ptl. Zappa smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle.

Investigation lead to the arrest of both subjects for being in possession of several items of drug paraphernalia that were present within the vehicle.  These items consisted of 3 pipes, a scale, a grinder and a THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)  pen that contained THC oil.     

As a result, Leeman was charged with the following offenses.

N.J.S. 2C:36-2   Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 marijuana pipes) (Disorderly Persons) and a motor vehicle summons for 39:3-74 View Obstruction.

In addition, Akcay was charged with:

N.J.S. 2C:35-10A(4)-   Possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana – (Disorderly Persons)

N.J.S. 2C:36-2             Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (pipe, scale, THC pen and grinder)

Both subjects were processed and released on a complaint summons pending court.
