On 2/3/18 at about 1:43a.m., Ptl. Jared Zappa was on patrol in the area of the Holiday Inn Express when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot idling and occupied by a male subject.
Subsequent investigation, revealed that Ptl. Zappa detected the odor of raw marijuana emanating from inside of the vehicle. The male occupant, identified as Joshua Rubin, age 39, of Holmdel, N.J., admitted to possessing marijuana with the intention of smoking it and a search incident to arrest revealed multiple items of paraphernalia (smoking pipes) as well as less than 50 grams of CDS.
As a result, Rubin was arrested and charged with the following:
N.J.S. 2C:35-10A(4) Possession of CDS (Under 50g) Disorderly Persons
N.J.S. 2C:36-2 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Smoking pipes, Marijuana grinder) Disorderly Persons
39:4-49.1 Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle
Rubin was served with a complaint summons and released pending Court.
