MV Stop/Arrest - Possession of CDS (Marijuana), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Rolling Papers)

On 9/16/19 at 12:14p.m., Ptl. Edward Sperling stopped a 1999 Ford Explorer on Paterson Avenue for a view obstruction violation.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver identified as Alexander Mitchell, age 20, of Green County, South Carolina was in possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana and Rizla rolling papers. 

As a result, Mitchell was arrested, processed and released on a complaint summons charging him with the following:

N.J.S. 2C:35-10a(4)  Possession of CDS (Marijuana – Under 50 grams) Disorderly Persons 

N.J.S. 2C:36-2  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Rolling papers) Disorderly Persons Offense

Mitchell was also issued 2 summonses.

Case pending a 10/8/19 appearance in Newton Municipal Court.
