Car Burglaries Under Investigation

Between Tuesday August 28^th and Wednesday August 29^th, 2018, the Newton Police investigated numerous burglaries to motor vehicles that occurred during the overnight hours.  Some of the vehicles were unlocked.  Various items were taken including cash, sunglasses, and credit cards.  The burglaries occurred mostly in the area of Madison Street, Halsted Street, Lawnwood Avenue, Spring Street and Main Street.  Newton Police are reminding residents to remain vigilant, lock their car doors, remove valuable items or keep them out of sight and report any suspicious persons or activity observed.
