If you're building Newsboat from source, please take a look at this

TL;DR: Newsboat currently requires Rust 1.26+, but I want to start
bumping that up with each release; see table in

There are concerns with point-release distros (Debian stable, Fedora
Release etc.), see my counter-arguments here:

Packaging on the Ubuntu side could be changed to where the .deb forces installation of the snap version. That was done relative to chromium for certain recent versions. Snaps look like the best candidates for maintaining parity with changes in Rust.

I think that'd be up to Ubuntu to decide. As an upstream maintainer,
I can't dictate them what to do.
