Hi all,

I am searching for a fast, cheap and good PCB manufacturer (if they exist ;) ) for very small series and/or single PCBs and I need your help for recommendations of such services.

There are simply too many offers available and I do not know which one to choose from, especially as their cost model is sometimes complicated to penetrate.

I can add several small projects to one larger piece of PCB and cut them myself afterwards as many manufacturers seems to laser cut them so they are easy to break up afterwards, or I can submit them as individual files if necessary. I mainly do small projects as a hobby and I don't plan on large scale manufacturing but I would really like to have them on PCBs instead of stripboards so I can look more professional and also so they can be smaller in size. I usually make double sided PCBs with a ground plane on one side so I am mainly looking for services which offers double sided PCBs with via holes.

I use both Orcad and Designspark for my PCBs but mainly Orcad for the schematics as I can use Orcad for free at work. Orcad PCB and Layout are more complicated I think so when I want to make a PCB I usually use Designspark, I am still learning how to use Orcad PCB & Layout properly.

All help is very much appreciated!

/Martin

I recommend www.oshpark.com. Very easy to use, fast turnaround, brilliant looking boards with ENIG gold finish and purple soldermask, and the prices are about as low as they get for small runs. Free shipping in the USA too. Anyway, highly recommended!

I have been using Advanced Circuits in Colorado for a long time. They
seem to have prices that are as good as the other American places I
asked once when trying to find the best deal, and they offer a service
that you might like called Bare Bones with one-day turn and a price of
about $100 per lot for tin-plated boards (no legend or mask). I believe
that it has few restrictions on size, but you pay more for bigger.

They also make fully-featured boards for $33 each with one week turn,
min. qty. 4 pcs. But they are fussy about combining designs into one
panel with that service.

There are companies in other parts of the world that are far less
costly, though. I've head folks talk of betting boards made for $10 each.

I've had very good experiences with all of the following for prototype
and small quantity runs.

http://oshpark.com/ (formally dorkbot pcb service)
http://iteadstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=19_20
http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/fusion-pcb-service-p-835.html?cPath=185

Itead and seeed studio are pretty much equivalent Chinese production
services, oshpark is USA based.

In general, fast & cheap don't go together. All are good quality.
Oshpark is noticeably better quality, but his fabrication options are
very limited (hope you like purple solder mask).
Expect 3 weeks on average from any of the above (you can speed things
up a bit with shipping upgrades for extra $$)

Plan on sending them gerber or eagle files from your cad package.

Thank you all for these suggestions, I was not aware of the fact that people where getting together to share the start up cost. I really like that idea, now that I know it exists I will search some more for this kind of companies.

I forgot to write that I am looking for PCB services in Sweden (Europe) and Australia, I've made a few PCBs for a friend in Australia and it would probably be cheaper to have stuff shipped directly to him rather than via me in Sweden where I live - the Swedish Post is very expensive even for small packages.

I have a lot of noble gases in glass bottles. I think that I'm not to be
able use it, that's why I'm going to sell some.
Available: Helium, Neon, Argon and Krypton.
Anybody interested in?

Best regards

Alek

Dear Dalibor,

Gases are in glass bottles. I have bottles with volume 1 liter and  2 liters. About prices. I think that 20$ per liter of krypton and 10$ per neon is a good price. but I have not any idea to safety shipping by polish post. Where are you?

Alek

The old NEONIXIE-L group on Yahoo Groups had a list of PCB manufacturers in the file area. I guess Google Groups doesn't have a feature like that. I don't know if it's outdated now but the old list is at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEONIXIE-L/links/PCB_Fabricators_001165608983/

Hello Alek,

Thanks for offer, that price is still quite high, I can buy an aluminium bottle with 12 liters of neon for around $70, it is also easier to connect it to my vacuum system.
