What is this? Nixie tube shaped neon sign?

Hello, i found this image and it looks like its actually neon sign shaped like nixie tubes? Unfortunately i do not have any info about it, i just found it in this galery: http://www.evoluon.com/nl/historie/fotogalerij-historie/ There are some other nice retro futuristic photos if you are interested.
Id be happy if somebody has more information maybe?

Yeah, Evoluon is a futuristic science museum in Eindhoven. Lots of really cool things to look at, including the giant neon "nixie tubes". There's a nice video in youtube that runs 20 minutes or so, showing various features of the place.

I probably saw it, but didn't take note of it, when I visited it, back in '87. Wasn't into nixies at that time. From how brightly lit, that area is, I'd say that's near the main entrance & cafeteria area, while it was still a museum.

The giant nixies were the visitor counters. I used to love going there, it was a technology showcase owned by Philips. Currently it is a conference center once the visitor rate fell below the sustainable level. There are a number of reasons why that happened, and probably in no small part because the displays did not change much. Too bad though, I have great memories going there on school trips.

I think this is a "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluorescent_lamp". This one have more then 1 meters high.

The latest News about the Evoluon :

From 2004 to 2013 (11 March), the Friends of the Evoluon was active. This
foundation sought to recover as an icon of technology and progress. Forward
the Evoluon Since summer 2012, Philips wants to use the building for
(temporary) exhibitions. In that year kicked off with an exhibition about
the human brain, in partnership with Discovery Center Continium in Kerkrade.
Followed by more events in collaboration with Continium, as well as NEMO and
Technopolis in Mechelen (Belgium). In 2013 the exhibition will be held
Innovation.

For short the Evoluon is desingated to become a national monument.

Evoluon Eindhoven
In 1966, the 'flying saucer' to the city of Eindhoven for the 75th
anniversary of Philips. The building was designed by architects Louis Kallf
and Leo de Bever.
In 2012 the building was open for a temporary exhibition again. It was more
than twenty years been closed to the public. There are several events on the
schedule.
From that time on it will be used for temporary expositions on technical
progress by Philips in collaboration with other technical institutes in
Europe.
