I recall a long while back, people were looking into the feasibility of
using various Supertex parts for driving Nixies. Can anyone comment on
their findings?

Thanks,

I am using the HV5522. It works like a charm. Two for 64bits and I am direct driving six tubes. It made both routing and programming easier.

This is my very first nixie project, so on the next one I will try some multiplex to bring the cost down, as this is the only down side I see on the supertex chip.

Tobias

I use HV513's 8x N-Channels and P-Channel MOSFETS. You can tie their rails any way you want. So I drive 8 anodes with 1x 513 a/ VPP tied to HV and HVGND tied to pull-middile, then I drive 16 Cathodes (what you need for B7971's) w/ 2x HV513s w/ VPP tied to pull-middle, and HVGND tied to GND...  Start here http://cogwheelcircuitworks.com/downloadables/NixieDriverBoard_RevB/NixieDrvrIN17x7-RevB_Schematics.pdf and also   See the main site.
