Quick question for those far more knowledgeable than I. I have some TNI-1.5D indicator tubes and was wondering what the firing voltage and suitable series resistor I should use would be...my Russian isn't up to deciphering that data sheet I found on line...

Thanks in advance,

Nick

This is from the original datasheet. 180V and 200kΩ resistor should work.

I was looking around London's Saatchi art gallery today. There is a refreshment establishment attached to it called the Gallery Mess Restaurant, which considers itself to be quite upmarket and sophisticated, yet it has this curious piece of lit tubing hanging up. I am somewhat nonplussed by it. What can it mean?

I was thinking of suggesting a caption competition, but I am quite sure I shouldn't.

Good grief...I'm just curious as to why the stars are apparently emanating from where they...well...appear to be emanating from...

I'm not a prude by any means, but that is really offensive crap masquerading as art!

It's a 2007 work by Dan Attoe. Perhaps it is our own thought associations that make us feel it should be offensive? It is showing less overt lewdness than many classical paintings and sculptures.

It seems it is not so well arranged as it was in the gallery itself.

Sometimes art IS offensive. It is to awaken people.
I think the title 'Forgiveness' proves that. Consider in art it isn't what you see directly but what is the thought behind...
Can you remember the famous ceramics in the (New York) museum with the f*ing pigs and people. Sorry I can't remember the name of the artist, but his name is as famous as  Warhole.

What about the 'Tube Art' on the is site :  [ http://www.sageous.com/sculptures.html ] (Site changes from time to time).

Well, this work of art obviously shows us that the universe came into existence by a cloud of gas coming from our creator "god" who happens to be a woman. And for the title, we all know we have a forgiving god :-)

That's my 2 cents comment on this art work
