Question: What factors are considered when calculating my facial beauty score?
Answer: Calculations are based solely on the geometry of your face.  We ignore more subjective criteria such as eye color, skin color, and complexion.

Question: I can't seem to add points anywhere.  What can I do?
Answer: Please ensure that the "Arrow" tool is selected.  You can select this tool by clicking on the button with an "Arrow" on the left side of the application.

Question: Sometimes when I click to add a point, it doesn't appear.  What can I do?
Answer: One option is to zoom in further and place the point (this helps the application better distinguish between point selection and point placement).  Another option is to place the point anywhere you can; then click on the point and drag it into place.

Question: What specific geometric calculations do you perform?
Answer: Our specific algorithm is proprietary, but we take into account many factors from neoclassical beauty, modern research papers, and our own scientific studies/statistical analysis.  Examples include things such as comparing innerocular distance to mouth width and nose width to face height.

Question: If my score is low, does that mean I'm ugly?
Answer: First of all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!  Secondly, a low score could also indicate a poor input image (one that isn't face forward, has too much rotation, and does not clearly show the features).  Also, not carefully selecting the points could also affect score.

Question: Why do you ignore skin complexion in your scoring?
Answer: Since makeup can cover someone's true complexion, taking it into account would provide biased results.  In addition, although skin complexion may be attributed to beauty in some cultures, in many others, it is completely irrelevant to someone's attractiveness.
