It's annoying that F6 (collapse all) won't work in the Move Task dialog...it makes it hard to find where I'm trying to move something to, since to use the move task dialog, I can't actually have everything collapsed.

While I'm at it, I would love to see a function key that would collapse everything except the direct tree associated with the task I have selected.

I agree, F6 would be useful here.

In the interim, there is always the "CTRL X, F6, navigate to
destination, CTRL V" route instead of CTRL M. This gives the benefit/
disadvantage(?) of a prompt to paste as child/sibling (CTRL M move
assumes child).

Lisa, I totally do agree... That's a function I'm missing already long
time.

Cut/copy/paste is not really an alternative for me, despite of the
fact that it indeed does work for "single tasks".

For certain reasons I'm coding my tasks in a way, that I can see, what
a task is all about, without necessarily seeing its context/category.

After synching with Outlook I'm having everything in my MLO Inbox.
Then I'm sorting alphabetically, and shoveling all tasks in one go to
their "destination".

For me that's a good way to handling my inbox, and indeed a "collaps
all" in that "destination window", that appears when MOVING tasks,
would help tremendously.

Good suggestion though.

Don't forget that you can now multiple select tasks before cut/copy/
paste with CTRL click i.e. doesn't have to be single task.

I like it!  I'd forgotten about that, thanks.  (Oddly since I use it everywhere else...)

+1 for both suggestions.

On the latter suggestion, could we just not make F6 do what you
suggest: namely collapse everything except the currently selected
branch (perhaps a configurable option). If you wanted to collapse
everything, you could
just hit home first.

Note: just to be specific, if you have a task selected, that branch
should be left open down to that task. Items below that task would be
collapsed and all other branches.

Just had a thought about a workaround for the F6 option keeping the
branch you are currently on open. If you hit F6 and then click on
the Back button, this seems to generate the desired effect: namely
collapses the whole tree but then takes you back to the task you were
on,opening up that branch down to that task.

If would be nice if there was a hotkey for Back and even nicer if F6
did this automatically but I think it will make life a lot easier.

Actually have found that this doesn't always work. This sequence
seems to be more reliable
Step 1: hit Home
Step 2: hit F6
Step 3: click Back button

done!

1) F6/F7 added to Move dialog
2) New command added to View menu: "Collapse all except selection" -
you can assign a hotkey to it.

Woohoo!!!!

Did you see my email about Move task being broken in Todo view in the beta?  It's still not working.   It seems to move the task but the move never occurs.  Can someone verify?  I'm running on Vista.

Yes, I've replicated this problem. I'm running on XP home SP3.
