Okay, I know I'm probably going to get flamed for this (and knowing my luck, I'm probably asking the day or two before it's being released) but is there a status on MLO v.4? There's absolutely NO communication on how the beta's going or an expected time of release. It was in alpha when it was given to the beta team in August but my word - development seems to be at a crawl. I don't want to come off as being unappreciative but it really does make me wonder - is Andrey not working on MLO full time or something? If not, that's fine as I know development has stopped on other personal task managers I used to use for that very reason. If that's the case then I understand. It's just the non-communication that gets me. Is there a place Andrey is posting that I'm not reading?

Is anyone here a part of the beta? If not, even that makes me wonder. Can anyone tell me how it's going at all? Were all the beta testers sworn to secrecy? If so, that's fine but ANYTHING would be appreciated. Anything...

(sigh)

Beta testers should not discuss functionality, because not all functionality that's in the beta will survive to release. And if there's a schedule, it hasn't been shared. But I can tell you that in the last few days, alpha testing of MLO-4 for Windows.has been completed and beta testing has begun.

I just started beta testing it today..I can share that it's running well and upgrade was very smooth.

Yes, we were asked not to talk about specific features. But I've already seen bug fixes get applied right after they were reported so I do think it's being worked on as a priority.

Hang in there!

I understanding asking - as an analyst I like knowing expectations.  I do have a question - is there functionality you don't have that you are chomping at the bit for?  Personally, I know I'm not utilizing MLO to its full extent now, so I'm not thinking about an upgrade.

Okay, thanks guys, that actually does help to know. Just knowing anything about it helps. Yes, there are some features that were listed as planned in the uservoice forum that I was curious about but if no one can talk about them then I totally understand.

Like I said, I'm not involved in the beta and was just going to wait until it was released. I just didn't know anything so, aside from people asking in the comments section on the blog, I'm a bit surprised no one has on here up until now (unless I'm the only one not on the beta team, ha ha!).

To be frank though, as much as I hate to say it, I had been looking at another personal task manager that is being released in a couple of weeks and was needing to know if MLO v.4 had certain features that I was needing or had been listed in the uservoice forums as planned. Other than what we've seen in the pictures in Andrey's last post, there was no mention or announcements of forthcoming features that we can expect in v. 4 unless what he posted in his initial post was it. If so, my greatest concern is whether there's been added functionality but I guess I'll hold off and wait until it's released which I'm hoping is in another  month or so (or at least this year?!). However, now that I know it's moved to beta and the fix responses are quick, that does tell me something so it's reassuring. Not knowing and not seeing that makes me think that in some sense, it wasn't.

Actually, on second thought, I've decided to move to another productivity app altogether. I've decided that I don't want to continue using a productivity software from a developer who doesn't communicate with his customers and has bogged himself down so much with a lot of different platforms that development seems to be at a crawl.  I sense that Andrey is struggling to get it out which makes me think that he isn't making much money on it and may even be doing this as a thing on the side. I've finally lost my patience even with MLO v4 about to be released whenever. Besides, there's too many bug reports that I'm seeing as it is. It's been a fun ride folks when it was and I hope Andrey can get his stuff together again eventually. Until then, I'm out.

Hmm, I share your frustration... If only I could find another product with similar feature set. Care to share which software you'll be replacing MLO with?

FYI MLO v4 has just moved to Beta 5 and Andrey has fixed many of the items that the Beta testers have been asking for.

Cheers

I'm going to guess that you were going with "You don't know how much effort it takes to program something like MLO" on that one? If not then you're going to have to help me out there daniel.
