Hello mUVe Support Team.

I bought the USB Seriell connector. The manual is in the attachment.
I install the driver
I configurate the Port with unconnected printer.
I write the codes in the projector control. (OFF and hex:  0614000400341101005E)
I connect the printer in CW
I send a command for OFF, the led on my connector flash shortly and then nothing. I have the Viewsonic FullHD Beamer.

What can I do?

If I write in my G-Code the printer makes nothing too.

kind regards
Thorsten

Thorsten,

Per the ViewSonic Manual you need to use 115200 baud rate for the COM port of the projector. Other than that, having a good connection and being absolutely positive you're using the proper COM device are the only things to check. Aside from the HEX codes of course. You can name them anything you'd like, just choose the proper display and the command you've saved from the dropdown menus, you much choose both, and then send the command. It should happen instantly if things are all properly connected and configured.

If you copied and pasted the codes, it might be worth typing them in just in-case there's a bug in the software. We'll be here if you need more help!

BAUD rate is 115200. In CW and in windows device manager.
I have the right com port 4 in CW. The LED flashes by sending a signal with CW.

The Hex codes, first I write them. Then I make copy - paste.

But the projector... nothing. No ON... no Off.

Must I Install driver for the beamer?

I have no idea!

kind regards Thorsten

Thorsten,

Nope, that's it. The serial connection purely sends pulses over the line, so if all the settings are correct it sounds like a bad cable or a poor connection of some kind.

Are you being sure to run Creation Workshop as an administrator?

The cable is new... i run CW as admin with Windows8.1, but nothing.

I think the problem is Win8.1. I will try another adapter.

Thorsten,

Unless the drivers are signed by Microsoft, the device won't work. You'll need to restart Windows in the lower security mode that allows you to install unsigned drivers, install the device, and then reboot the system into the normal mode. It should work from then on, if that's the cause of the problem.

Hello, today I receive the new connector.

Win installs a Win-signed FTDI driver. I changed the com Port from Com4-com5. Start CW as admin. baud rate 115200, but no reaction at my beamer.

:(

I find the solution. I need a zero-modem cable to connect the beamer with my USB-rs232 connector.
Now I can start-stop the beamer with CW.

I´m happy.

Have a nice weekend.

When i send Gcode command  (;<DispCmd> DISPLAY2, ProjOff) the printer say

"Could Not Send Raw GCode Command"
what this mean?

That's not a GCode command so you cannot send it manually in that manner. It can only be added to the "Custom GCode" area in Creation Workshop so that it will automatically generate the proper commands for itself and the right time.

So to sent a command to display 2, go to the Control tab in CW, go to the display control area, select display 2 from the dropdown menu, then select the command from the other dropdown menu. Then press the button to send the projector command.
