The Department of Musicology at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications to its Ph.D program. Graduate students at CU Boulder enjoy the benefits of a large musicology faculty of nine with rare geographic, historical, and theoretical breadth. And as one of the leading research institutions in the mountain West, the university offers rich opportunities to emerging scholars, all in a community defined by its vibrant musical life and scenic beauty.

Graduate students specialize in either historical musicology or ethnomusicology, but their coursework includes considerable crossover between programs and departments throughout the university. Fellowships include tuition remission, stipend, and benefits.

We encourage students with a bachelor's or master's degree in music or in cognate fields to apply directly to the Ph.D program. For more information and to apply, please visit: https://www.colorado.edu/music/academics/departments/musicology
