SYMPOSIUM Journal: Call for Scholarship and Research Editor

The College Music Symposium: Journal of the College Music Society is seeking applicants for the significant Scholarship and Research Editor position. The Editor will be responsible for two issues a year. Appointments are for three years, and responsibilities begin in the Fall 2021, in preparation for the Winter-Spring 2022 issue. This is a voluntary service position.

Editorial responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and building an editorial board
• Evaluating initial submissions and determining if they should move forward to peer review
• Assigning submissions to referees
• Ensuring guidelines and ethical standards are met for all submissions

Interested applicants should hold advanced degrees and have experience with publishing, editing, or writing. The College Music Symposium: Journal of the College Music Society is a double-blind peer-reviewed international journal, served by a team of Component Editors, that publishes research, comprehensive review articles, forums, and individual reviews, including those of books, audio, technologies, and online platforms. The journal also publishes, with transcriptions, peer-reviewed Performances, Lectures, Lecture-Recitals, and Lessons (PLL) that have been captured on video. Symposium issues, indexed in major databases, are officially released twice a year Summer/Fall and Winter/Spring. It is one of the longest-standing academic journals in music and in the midst its 60th anniversary (1961-2021). https://symposium.music.org
