Oh yes, definitely. From my current knowledge, Ali Spivak and Janet Swisher
had talked to some people of the webmaker team to start such common work.

Absolutely, one of the first thing we plan to do on MDN is to make an
inventory of what we currently have and start organize it into some more
easy to find, easy to use area(s). But the current work is to figure out
what we should actually do to make MDN more beginner friendly (so is the
survey made for).

Yes. As an example, I took a look at the Slow Parser project and I think it
would be an awesome feature to use it to build a Dabblet/JSFiddle code
editor within MDN to build interactive examples and interactive tutorials.
I'm pretty sure that trying to embed such tool into MDN would be beneficial
to both projects.

Being able to exchange content would also be awesome. However it has some
important impact on Kuma (the MDN engine) therefor, I cannot predict when
or even if it would be possible. But the idea worth considering it.

That would be awesome :) I'm not sure we will be able to start producing
nor adding third party content before Q2, but YES, we could run coordinate
webmaker/MDN sprint.

Absolutely. Know that I'm easy to reach on Monday. The rest of the week
will be a bit harder (even impossible on Tuesday and Wednesday). Anyway,
I'll be glad to discuss this further with you.

Oh yes, I like this. Among the things we suspect would be great for
beginners, Chris highlight the "Mentorship" idea. As this sounds like
something similar to me, It would also be great to invite him as well.

> What’s the best way to keep each other posted on progress? Is email

Absolutely. On the MDN side everything regarding this project is discuss
publicly on the dev-mdc mailing list (with messages prefix with [Learning
Area]) and I keep track of the progress on WikiMo (
https://wiki.mozilla.org/MDN/Learning_Area).

If you want a regular summary of the project activity, I post a progress
status on the mdn-drivers mailing list on a regular basis. If you wish I
can send it to the webmaker mailing list as well.

As this discussion looks very important to me I add the dev-mdc mailing
list as a copy and change the subject of the e-mail to start a new
discussion thread. Feel free to do the same on the webmaker part :) and to
join the discussion on dev-mdc.

> Please let us know if there are specific things about Webmaker + MDN you

There is nothing that pop to my head right now, but I let you know as soon
as it will be the case. As we are currently in the process to gather some
feedback about what we need to improve first is a bit to early to think
about specific things :) but I'll keep you posted.

I'm super excited about this conversation :-)

Let's continue to work on ways to work together - sprints, hangouts and shared content being awesome ways to do so.

Hi all,

+1 to the excitement around working more closely.

What if we distill and think of a pilot project we could do together? Is
there something MDN is already tracking towards that Webmaker could help
with? Maybe a select set of interactive tutorials, tied to priority topics
in MDN and aligned with the web literacy map.

I bet we'd quickly come up with something crisp yet valuable that we could
do in the near-term that sets the stage for even bigger collaborations!

As we are in the exploratory phase of that project on MDN, we are open to
any suggestion :)

The current idea is to define a more concrete set of actions by end of
March once we will have the result of our current survey (I plan to present
the results of the survey during the MDN meet up schedule for March 7-9)

Intuitively, I think including the SlowParser project within Kuma could
provide interesting features for code samples with something a bit less
complex than Thimble and more integrated with MDN content. But it's
currently just an intuition and it needs to be thought a bit more.

To be honest, I haven't take the time to look at the current Webmaker
content yet and we first need to sort out our own existing content. But
yes, it is definitely something worth considering.

Hello Webmaker team :)

Could someone told me what is the best IRC chanel to reach you and discuss
our common topics? (you seams to have several chanels)

The best MDN IRC chanel for such discussion is #mdn if you need to reach
one of us :)
