Hi localizers,

Feel free to ignore this email if you don’t use GitHub or don’t have an account.

Almost 5 years ago, when we moved mozilla.org from SVN to GitHub, we
also invited localizers with SVN accounts to join the mozilla-l10n
organization, as part of a “Localizers” team. This team had write
access to specific repositories, like mozilla.org or snippets,
allowing localizers to replicate the existing workflow from SVN.

A lot has changed since then: We have consolidated contribution paths
to l10n to Pontoon as the main contribution tool for localization in
the Mozilla ecosystem, and having direct access to repositories is not
necessary anymore. Write access is already not allowed for some
repositories, since formats are not user-friendly and can be properly
managed only through localization tools like Pontoon.

As part of improving the security of Mozilla’s organizations on
GitHub, we’re going to enforce 2 factors authentication (2FA) also for
mozilla-l10n. The switch will happen on April 27.

If you are part of the organization, but don’t have 2FA enabled, you
will be automatically removed from the organization. This won’t
prevent you from opening pull requests or filing issues, for example,
and you will be able to rejoin (if you want) after enabling 2FA.

You can find more information about enabling 2 factors authentication
in GitHub in this page
https://help.github.com/en/github/authenticating-to-github/configuring-two-factor-authentication

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
