Hi Everyone,

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Alexandre Lissy, Alexandre Poirot, Gareth Aye and many others we are now using Mulet for all Gaia tests on gaia-master and gaia (try) on TaskCluster.

Also, for you Mac users out there that hack on gaia, you will now again be able to run integration tests (Gij) locally.

Onward and upward,

Now the simulator is the last blocker (bug 1191868). I believe Alex is
working on it.

This is great work Aus, Gareth, Alex and Alex!! This is huge for us on a number of levels.

Aaaand now for the bike shedding...

Can we stop calling it mulet, and just call it fxos-desktop or something?

Please yes. Codenames are fun, but graduating from a code name is cause for celebration and a lower barrier to understanding. :-)

Congrats and great work to everyone who helped make this happen.

+1 for renaming.

Sounds like great news. Congrats folks.

Does this mean we can start using Mulet as the one true way to run Gaia locally for contributors, rater than the confusing mess we have right now (e.g. as covered in [0][1])?

Or does this just cover tests specifically, with more work to do here?

Either way, it sounds like there are some docs to do here. Can someone give me some pointers? Perhaps a “Running tests with Mulet” guide would be a good idea.

I am a little wary of using the name "simulator" for what Mulet is at
the moment, since we already have thing called a FxOS Simulator, and
having two things with that name sounds quite confusing to document.

Now, we do hope to soon build the existing simulator product from
Mulet, but it would not have the tools built into the window, etc.
It's not what you get by just downloading Mulet yourself.
