MongoDB 2.7.3 has been released. As a reminder, 2.7.3 is a development release and is not intended for production use. The 2.7 series will evolve into 2.8, which will be for production.

This is the first development release to include experimental support for document-level locking and pluggable storage engines.

Addressed issues include:
- SERVER-14283   Parameters in installed config file are out of date
- SERVER-14302   Equality queries on _id with projection may return no results on sharded collections
- SERVER-14304   Equality queries on _id with projection on _id may return orphan documents on sharded collections

And many thanks to our community members who made contributions in this release:
- Azat Khuzhin, SERVER-4345, Add support processing fifo files in mongorestore
- osheroff, SERVER-5378, out {} parameters position independence
- Nick Stenning, SERVER-10190, Upstart conf: use pidfile, not 'ps'
- James Page, SERVER-14388, Fixup detection of yaml-cpp system library
- David Murphy, SERVER-14118, Added ability to detect if _id is missing when passing an object to rs.add, if missing add it automatically as if it was a string that had been passed.
- Lu Guanqun, SERVER-4042, convert HashTable::iterAll to use stdx::bind instead of function callback
- Dmitry Kostenko, SERVER-14282, Fix random crash with recSizeKB > 4
- Stefano Charissis, SERVER-9634, Fix typo in mongoperf; 'optoins' -> 'options'.
