This month we are delighted to have Mark Robinson, CEO and Co-founder of Games Analytics (http://www.gamesanalytics.com/), who will us to help us understand our players/users and thus create great mobile game/app experiences.

His talk will cover how analytics can really help developers and publishers create great gaming experiences in mobile games. Player feedback now takes a vital part in the development and ongoing management of successful games. The recognition that players have different competencies and playing styles means that personalization of the game environment will maximise retention and revenues.

Mark has over 15 years’ data mining industry experience, across companies such as Heineken, Office Depot, Aviva and Unibet. He led data mining consultancy Marketing Databasics that builds and hosts analytical environments to increase customer value through data-driven insight, and which was acquired by the Indicia Group.

Fascinated by the potential of big data and games, he co-founded GamesAnalytics in 2010 and has made it his personal mission to evangelise how analytics can change the games industry learning CRM techniques and business thinking from other market sectors.

In addition, as a supporting act, Ross Wilson of Kotikan (http://kotikan.com/) will share a short photo diary of the impressions they took away from their first visit to the mayhem that is Mobile World Congress in Barcelona the week before which promises to be a lot of fun!

Ross joined Kotikan in March 2010 and has seen the changes in the mobile channel at first hand, from an early adopter's market to major companies taking a 'mobile first' approach . In his role as Mobile Strategist Ross helps Kotikan's partners define their objectives and ensure mobile projects are planned within the context of meeting these goals.

We are being kindly hosted by the Informatics Ventures Mobile Apps Group (http://www.informatics-ventures.com/connect/mobile-apps-group), and supported by Games Analytics Ltd.

The event is being held in Appleton Tower LT3 (located directly off the main concourse) on Crichton Street, and will kick off at 6.30pm sharp. It will be followed by a networking reception as normal. The event is free but pre-registration is required via eventbrite:
